Closing out one of the great chapters in New York hockey, Bryan Trottier would play his final season on Long Island in 1989-90, with the previous decade-and-a-half witnessing an impressive showing from the Art Ross and Hart Memorial winner. Registering six seasons of 100-plus points, Trottier would also be one of the most integral components to the Islanders success which included their epic four-consecutive Stanley Cup championships. Moving on to win another pair of Stanley Cup championships with the Pittsburgh Penguins and another as an assistant coach of the Colorado Avalanche in 2001, Trottier would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997. Offered here, we present this Islanders jersey worn by Trottier during the 1989-90 that comes from the collection of former Islanders equipment manager, Terrence Murphy. An air-knit construction garment made by CCM, a Maska label that has had a size "54" brand designation penned to it in blue ballpoint pen is affixed to the inner collar while the CCM logo is embroidered into the reverse hem. Of note, this style of logo helps denote the jersey as a first set offering from that season. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a familiar Islanders team crest that has been fully administered in layered tackle twill style while the distinguished alternate captain's "A" is in place over the left breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Trottier's number "19" in dual layer blue-over-orange tackle twill numerals, "Trottier" is spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate over the upper reverse. Featuring its original fight strap and pilling at the elbows on the interior of the piece, the jersey shows good game-wear via numerous stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeve as well as an unrepaired hole over the left hip, board burns and coloured paint transfers over both sleeves and additional paint transfers over the right side of the reverse and behind the right shoulder. Additionally, some spot staining is present over the front and behind the collar as well. Accompanied by an LOA stating the origin of the jersey, the letter has been signed by Terrence's son, Joe, at its conclusion.
