Impregnable along the Blueshirts blueline for almost two decades and a key member of the Manhattanites squad that won the 1994 Stanley Cup, Brian Leetch earned a pair of James Norris Trophies with the New York Rangers for his superior defensive skills throughout his career along with the Calder Memorial as the top rookie, in 1989. Also representing the United States at numerous international competitions throughout his career, including at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games on home soil in Salt Lake City, Utah where Team USA won a silver medal, offered here is this photo-matched stick used by Leetch during the games. An Easton Ultra Lite model, this specific type of stick and blade combination saw action in two seasons including 2001-02 and the very early portion of 2002-03 as well. Displaying a "2 Leetch" stamp over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white over the handle/knob and black wrapped around the blade, which has been signed by Leetch on the forehand side with a gold marker ink signature that displays without issue. Featuring a black coloured Easton branded blade inserted into the bottom of the shaft, the stick shows light-to-moderate game-wear via a few marks and abrasions over the lower shaft and heel areas as well as some marks over the blade tape that are heaviest on the backhand side. Also sporting some soiling to the handle tape from the palms of Leetch's gloves, a now dried gripping agent has been applied over the length of the shaft which has left a stuck on residue throughout.
