Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Featuring absolutely wonderful aesthetics along with a stately, almost majestic appearance, we have an especially attractive 1928-29 Boston Bruins Stanley Cup champions team photo display, with this surely unique specimen all the more special as it originally hails from the personal collection of one of Beantown’s all-time most notables, HOFer Milt Schmidt. With its elaborate design and professional artistry almost guaranteeing original placement in a position of prominence within the organization - quite possibly the office of Art Ross - the 8” x 14 ½” photo (exposed) picture’s the full squad along with Ross and trainer Win Green. The surrounding matting has been hand embellished with wonderful details including both statistics for the 1928-29 season, along with charming depictions of both the Stanley Cup and a generic hockey “bruin”. Framed (no glass) to full dimensions of approx. 23 ½” x 25”, the vintage display would be the centerpiece within any advanced Bruins holdings.
The photo exhibits some creasing along with a 5” tear visible along the bottom right side, with this damage doing little to infringe upon the image. The matting itself shows some minor toning, with expected wear to the frame commensurate with almost a century of life.
