Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A graduate of the University of Maine, Ben Guite spent numerous seasons in the AHL before making his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins in 2005-06. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the Montreal native during the pre-season and/or training camp in the early-2000s. A Starter label is sewn to the collar with embroidered Starter and NHL crests over the reverse hem, with a size swatch of “58-G” affixed to the inside hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “24” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Guite” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. We should further note that there is evidence of a former nameplate, with the jersey possibly worn by Scott Thornton in 1997-98. Sporting a few dark marks over the front, the goalie-cut jersey exhibits heavy wear over the sleeves with numerous burns, with five team repairs on or near the left elbow. There is also an additional repair on the front collar. An LOA from the Montreal Canadiens will accompany.
