Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Intriguing specimen of one of the most desirable cards of the modern era is offered here, with Bobby Orr’s famous 1966-67 rookie card “only” grading FR 1.5 but appearing quite a bit more attractive than most people’s idea of a “Fair” condition card. Sure, there’s some creasing, but only detectable when the PSA holder is held at a certain angle. A light diagonal crease rises up from the border by the second “B” of “Bobby” to attain Orr’s outer right nostril, while another light (vertical) crease descends from the upper edge to just above his right ear. Visible corner/edge wear and minor soiling/staining on the back are also to be aware of. A real nice low grade example best describes it, with Topps’ television design bringing to mind the first time viewers got to see the young phenom perform on TV – wow, could this kid skate and handle the puck or what?!
