Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

The Red Wings returned to the Parkhurst fold in 1960-61, with an enjoyable run through these attractive Wings, Leafs and Canadiens cards leading us to begin with "not an obvious crease and hardly any at all affect these bright, colorful examples". Key cards of Maurice Richard and Jacques Plante are among the condition leaders at EX-MT or EX-MT+, while the Gordie Howe appears similar, but is dropped by a very subtle small light crease in the lower right corner region. A dozen other EX-MTs include 2-Mahovlich and 48-Harvey. The rest are dominated by crease-free VG-EX, VG-EX+ and, to a lesser extent, EX cards, with 31-Sawchuk most notable among EX entries. Condition exceptions include four at VG+ due to a small light crease; #s 10, 35, 49-Beliveau and 59-Geoffrion-Beliveau-Marshall, while a warped #1-Horton card comes in at VG. Glue residue (reverse) affects the last card, 61-Morrison, with three otherwise EX-MT cards, (29-Pronovost, 47-H. Richard, 57-Marshall-Richard-Moore), expertly unglued, leaving uneven discoloration but no paper loss. Like us, you'll enjoy perusing these.
