Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

The captain of the Chicago Black Hawks during the 1931-32 NHL season, Marvin “Cyclone” Wentworth would later spend six seasons with the Montreal Maroons before being traded to the crosstown Habs in 1938. We have a signed 1933-34 World Wide Gum Ice Kings card of the Grimsby native, with this example encapsulated and certified “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. Signed to the left of his image in pencil, the signature displays well, with the card itself in low grade, with corner wear, creases and a few small stains. The reverse has also been heavily damaged, with most of the text obscured from paper loss, with glue residue also left from prior scrapbook removal. Cyclone would live until 78 years of age, passing in 1982.
