Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Hailing from a 44-game season that witnessed ten teams battling for Lord Stanley’s hardware, we have a 1929-30 NHL program that featured a contest between the Ottawa Senators and short-lived Pittsburgh Pirates. A fold-over affair at 6” x 9” (closed), the date of Jan 21st 1930 is listed on the cover, with the line-ups for each club placed within. Led by past legends Newsy Lalonde (Ottawa) and Frank Fredrickson (Pittsburgh), the match would finish with a 7-4 victory for the home team Senators, with a few HOFers in the line-up including King Clancy and Alec Connell. Preserved and displaying beautifully, there is a vertical crease that runs through the center, but this minor imperfection does little to distract from the wonderful vintage aesthetics.
