The Montreal Canadiens were on the cusp of capturing their first Stanley Cup in five years heading into the fifth game of their Stanley Cup Final clash with Bobby Hull and the Chicago Blackhawks on April 27, 1965. With the series tied at two wins apiece, fans entering the building were happy to spend 35 cents on a copy of the Forum Sports Magazine with rough-and-ready John Ferguson on the cover. Ultimately, the Canadiens earned a 6-0 victory that night thanks to perfectly play from Charlie Hodge, two goals (including the winner) and two assists from Jean Beliveau, and three-point efforts from Dick Duff, Bobby Rousseau, and J.C. Tremblay. While they lost two nights later in Chicago, the were back on home ice to win it all a few days later. This program shows few signs of wear outside of on its spine, but it is complete and unmarked. Also included in this lot is a 1961-62 Canadiens’ Yearbook in excellent condition.
