Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A gold medal winner with Team Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics, Chris Kunitz first represented his nation at the 2008 IIHF World Championships, with the Canadians finishing second, with this jersey worn at the tournament by the four-time Stanley Cup champion. An IIHF label with Nike “60” sizing sits affixed to the collar, with an IIHF “100” years patch over the lower hem. Styled with the familiar Hockey Canada team logo with embroidered detailing, the polyester jersey sports tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching vintage-style Canada crests over each sleeve. An inventory bar code from Nike has been added to the inside hem, with an LOA from Hockey Canada to accompany.
Exhibiting moderate use, the jersey has dark marks over the front and sleeves, with a bit of blue paint transfer over the lower reverse. We should also note that Team Canada wore white jerseys on May 4th vs Latvia (qualification round), May 6th vs the US (qualification round), May 8th vs Norway (qualification round), May 12th vs Finland, May 16th vs Sweden in the semifinals and May 18th vs Russia in the final.
