Selected at the 1992 NHL Supplemental Draft, netminder Richard Shulmistra spent four years at Miami University in Ohio before numerous seasons in the AHL and IHL. The Sudbury native was originally drafted by the Quebec Nordiques, with his rights transferred to the Colorado Avalanche on June 21, 1995. This Colorado Avalanche jersey hails from the club’s inaugural season in 1995-96, and it was worn by Shulmistra during the preseason and/or training camp. Center Ice labeling along with a “56-G” size swatch sit affixed to the collar, with embroidered Starter and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the multi-coloured partially embroidered Avs team crest, the V-neck has been embellished with textured and layered tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. Showing just light game-use with a few random marks visible including across the team crest, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
