Starring in the Cobalt Mining League while still a teen, Duke Keats appeared in both the NHA and WCHL early-on is his HOF career, with 82 games played for NHL clubs during the mid-1920s including Boston, Chicago and Detroit. The Montreal native and five-time WCHL All-Star also helped lead Edmonton to the Stanley Cup finals, in 1923. We have a rare vintage photo of the early superstar. At approx 7 ½” x 9 ½”, Keats is pictured in his Detroit Cougars uniform circa-1927, with exceptional clarity to the image. A few inventory numbers are handwritten over the reverse, with just light overall wear to the glossy print, with a few minor surface wrinkles visible. Considerably scarce, this may be one of the best remaining photos of the star.
