Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
This unique Maurice Richard 1990 NHL All-Star Game jersey is the one he wore as the honorary captain of the Wales Conference All-Stars at the midseason classic in Pittsburgh. Some of the Rocket’s magic rubbed off on the Wales All-Stars, who were led by MVP Mario Lemieux’s four goals in a 12-7 win over the Campbell’s at the Igloo on January 21. Richard’s event-worn jersey with the 41st NHL ASG patch on the right shoulder is the one he wore during his official appearances at the 1990 ASG. Size “52” is handwritten in ballpoint on the Maska flag tag in the neck. It is originally from the Rocket’s family and was sold in the 2002 Maurice Richard auction held by Classic Auctions. Comes with a Richard family LOA.
Richard’s surname is spelled out in individual sewn-on twill black twill letters on a nameplate, and his No. 9 is sewn on the back and both sleeves in double-twill, orange-on-black on the back, and orange-on-white on the sleeves. CCM and NHL logos are embroidered on the right rear tail.
