This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Memories of Tony Gabriel's Hall of Fame playing career come to life in this sensational lot of 22 photos from the legendary Canadian tight end's stellar career. Gabriel, a Hamilton native, played NCAA football at Syracuse in the late 1960s. Wooed by the New York Giants, he returned home to star for the Tiger-Cats in the early 1970s before moving on to Ottawa, where he won his second Grey Cup with his memorable last-minute catch in the 1976 game. Gabriel's great years with the Rough Riders are featured here, including two great portrait photos of him in his familiar No. 77 Ottawa uniform. Five Rough Riders team photos are included along with great action shots and posed photos of Gabriel, including a wonderful picture of he and Montreal great Peter Dalla Riva, a longtime hometown friend, shaking hands. This remarkable collection of photos from Tony Gabriel's personal collection comes along with his signed letter of authenticity.
