Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Hailing from the personal collection of longtime Philadelphia Flyers training staff member Jim “Turk” Evers, we have a Minnesota North Stars jersey that was worn by Curt Giles circa-1990. A Maska Air-Knit label with handwritten “48” graces the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with a yellow and white drop-shadow Stars team crest, the green V-neck has also been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Giles” across the nameplate in single white twill. Evidence of a former alternate’s “A” over the left breast is present, with this dating the jersey to the 1989-90 season as Giles captained the squad in 1990-91. A signed COA from Evers will accompany.
Game-wear includes just a few faint marks and burns over the lower front and sleeves, with some pilling on the cuffs and beneath the team crest. There are also three team repairs over the left sleeve.
