Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
The Oilers premier backstop before the emergence of Grant Fuhr, Andy Moog spent parts of seven seasons in the Alberta capital before moving on to Boston. This Oilers jersey was worn by the Penticton native in 1986. Nike size tagging remains attached to the collar, along with a size “L” fly tag. Accented with tri-colour numbers and the classic Oilers team crest, the v-neck mesh also sports a custom-shortened hem and sleeves, with added elastic cuffs. These customization's were also present on a 1986-87 Moog sweater that was photo-matched, that we sold previously. We should also note the loop-style fight strap, along with the faded Moog signature on the team crest that has been washed-out. An LOA will accompany this garment.
Visible game-wear is light on the jersey, with just a few random dark marks present. We should also note that the Nike logo that was originally on the hem before customization is still partially visible on the inside seam. The 1986-87 season would be Moog’s last in Edmonton.
