Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Serving as the 28th mayor of Vancouver, British Columbia, from 1951 to 1958, Frederick John "Fred" Hume owned the WHL Vancouver Canucks, and was a strong advocate for expansion into the NHL. Enshrined as a Builder in both the Hockey Hall of Fame and Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Hume is memorialized by the unsung hero award in his name that’s annually presented by the Canucks. This leather-bound set of Vol 1 and Vol 2 of "The Trail to the Stanley Cup" was originally presented to Hume, with an NHL bookplate added to the first volume that states, “Presented to Fred Hume with the compliments of The National Hockey League”. Both volumes are numbered “163” and remain in beautiful condition, with some minor toning to the interior pages.
