Backstopping creases for a decade which included five seasons with St. Cloud State, Scott Meyer served briefly as the New York Rangers backup in 2001-02, the season the offered mask and Rangers jersey originate from. First, the mask features an attractive and menacing open-mouth wolf design, and sports intact cage, strapping and back plate, with most of the interior padding present. A few partial labels are also visible within the interior along with a sticker from A.M. Studio Custom Mask Design on the outer left side. We should note that early-2000s photos of Meyer with WCHA St. Cloud State and the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack seem to be showing him wearing the same mask. The jersey was produced by CCM with “58” sizing and tackle twill team crest and numbers along with team and MeiGray patches, and we should note that as Meyer never saw action in a single contest, the jersey would have been worn in his capacity as backup.
The jersey sports a few small stains, with the mask showing nice game-use including chipping to the surface along the chin section and on the upper left side of the forehead, with additional wear to the interior. We should further note that a photo of Meyer in Rangers’ uniform seems to be showing the chipping pattern on the chin, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
