Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
A trio of magnificent items all featuring the Magnificent One, we have a signed Mario Lemieux Pittsburgh Penguins captain’s jersey, along with a 1985-86 O-Pee-Chee rookie card and limited-edition 1993 Highland Mint bronze card. The jersey has Center-Ice labeling along the collar near a size “52” fly tag, with tri-colour tackle twill letters making up the team crest, along with “66” in yellow twill with white trim over the sleeves and verso. Mario has signed at the top of the first reverse “6” in blue marker, with the signature bleeding into the material somewhat. The O-Pee-Chee rookie card remains in roughly VG condition, with wear at all four corners including a few small corner wrinkles/creases. An LOA from JSA will accompany for the jersey signature, along with an additional COA.
We should note that the jersey was previously displayed in a frame, with a few small unobtrusive pinholes over the shoulders and bottom hem. The Highland Mint bronze card comes in its original display folder, with the inserted certificate stating “3048 of 5000”. The card itself appears to have been removed from the lucite holder at some point, with just light wear visible at each corner.
