Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Retiring as the highest scoring left winger in the history of the NHL, Luc Robitaille spent the majority of his lengthy career with the Los Angeles Kings, with appearances made at eight NHL All-Star Games. This framed limited-edition artist proof lithograph of the superstar was executed by noted artist Stephen Holland, and it hails from his personal collection. At approx 19” x 32” (exposed), the 1992 lithograph pictures a helmetless Robitaille in game action in his Kings uniform. Luc has signed in pencil directly beneath his image, while the artist has signed over the bottom right. A lengthy dedication has been added by Robitaille, with the limited edition number of “AP 59/100” added over the bottom right, matted and framed to approx 27” x 40 ½”. A signed LOA from Luc Robitaille will accompany.
The signatures and lithograph display well with no issues, with some wear to the frame including a number of chips.
A portion of the sales from the Luc Robitaille personal collection will benefit the Echoes of Hope Foundation. Founded in 2007 by Stacia and Luc Robitaille, Echoes of Hope strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of children, youth, and young adults in need by alleviating barriers and helping them reach their full potential.
