Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

Spanning some 50 years is this array of non-sport cards, with a complete 1956 Topps Davy Crockett set of 80 the most striking. Exhibiting only light handling and wear and mostly impressive immaculate surfaces, the ensemble averages EX+, with EX, EX+ and EX-MT examples dominating. A small percentage are better, with just three creased cards spotted and light elastic band indentations affecting card #1. .....Batman "Black Bat" cards from 1966 are O-Pee-Chee (Canadian) versions and two shy of a 55-card set, with mostly VG and VG+ cards, while some VG-EXs are also in the mix. .....Also from 1966 is a complete Rat Patrol 66-card set, with a dozen or so low grade examples joining VG to VG-EX entries and averaging VG or a tad lower. .....A mostly near mint 60-card Rocky Horror Picture Show card set is intriguing to peruse, with a creased #60-Checklist card to note, while cards featuring dogs from the 1920s complete the lot. Somewhat scarce are 24 cards (a complete set) issued by Cowans of Toronto in 1929 and named "Dog Pictures". They exhibit toning/soiling/wear but no drastic unsightly flaws, with however glue residue on the backs of cards 23 and 24. Also present is a near set (49/50 - missing #22) of 1925 Imperial Tobacco (of Canada) Dogs 2nd series cards. Generally crease-free VG to VG-EX condition is to report.
