Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Acquiring his seasoning with Brandon in the WCHL, Bill Derlago spent a pair of seasons with the Canucks in the late-1970s before being traded – along with Rick Vaive – to the Toronto Maple Leafs. From his second of seven seasons in Ontario where he scored 74 points in 80 games, we have a Maple Leafs jersey worn by the Birtle, Manitoba native, in 1980-81. An off-center Maska label with “50” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an embroidered Maska crest over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an attractive partially embroidered team crest, the vintage V-neck has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with alternate Leafs crests over each shoulder.
Hammered with use, a number of fabric pulls are present along with pilling throughout, with a bit of red paint transfer over each sleeve. A number of team repairs are also witness to the jersey’s considerable use, with examples beneath the team crest, on the left elbow and over the lower reverse.
