Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
The recipient of the Czechoslovak Golden Hockey Stick award in 1974, netminder Jiri Holecek saw action in the Czechoslovak Elite League from 1964 to 1979, with over 160 games played for the Czechoslovak national team including at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games. This Team Czechoslovakia jersey has been attributed to Jiri Holecek’s use at the 1976 Canada Cup, with his nation finishing second behind Canada. Void of any labeling and measuring-out to roughly a modern size 50, a Czechoslovak crest has been placed over the chest, with “2” in drop-shadow red-over-blue numerals over the sleeves and verso. “Holecek” in individual letters arches across the upper reverse, with a wool tie-neck collar utilized on the vintage sweater. Exhibiting light game use, there is some minor discolouration in areas including near the team crest and over the bottom front.
