Adding coaching to his HOF resume which included hoisting Lord Stanley’s hardware from behind the bench of the New Jersey Devils in 1995, Jacques Lemaire had previously been a member of eight championships with the Montreal Canadiens throughout his playing career. From the early-1970s – an era that witnessed Lemaire and the Habs crowned Stanley Cup champions in 1971 and 1973, we have a signed stick used by the Lasalle native. A Victoriaville Pro with “Lemaire” and “25” stamped, the “Special Order Model” features the lower striping accent in Habs colours intact, with the original white now darkened tape over the knob. The blade has never had tape applied as per Lemaire’s use, with his black marker signature placed across the front side. The stick shows heavy wear throughout, with chipping to the top edge and underside of the blade, with marks, red paint transfer and a small spot of yellow paint to the shaft.
