A runner-up to Pierre Pilote in Norris Trophy voting the previous season, Jacques Laperriere claimed the award for himself following the 1965-66 season. The 8-time Stanley Cup champion ended Pilote’s three-year hold on the award as he was named to the First All-Star Team for the second year in a row, after being named a Second Team All-Star as a rookie in 1963-64. This marvelous replica trophy was produced by Boffey’s in the mid-2000s and originates from Laperriere’s personal collection, with the HOFer signing the brown-felt underside in black marker. The octagonal wood base measures 6 ½” across at its widest and the trophy stands just over 12” tall from the bottom of the base to its lidded top. The trophy’s bowl is 6” across in diameter, with a 2” plaque affixed to the base that states, “Jacques Laperriere, Montreal Canadiens, 1965-66”.
There is some tarnishing and surface wear present, with this most noticeable over the lower front and along the inner and outer rim of the bowl. The removable lid also shows some wear to the finial, with a few scratches to the wooden base.
