Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

An Atlanta Flames draft choice in 1973, Greg Fox would spend a pair of seasons in Georgia before six seasons with Chicago, beginning in 1978. We have a photo-matched Black Hawks jersey worn by the BC native in 1980-81, during his third season in The Windy City, where he appeared in 75 games. A Gunzo’s label from the supplier is affixed to the collar, with a small size “50” fly tag added adjacently. Styled with the famous multi-coloured Indian head team crest with chain-stitched detailing, “2” has been placed over the sleeves and verso in layered white-over-black tackle twill, with matching chain-stitched tomahawk crests over each shoulder. The suspender-style fight strap is intact, with “Fox” over the affixed nameplate in individual white twill letters. We should note evidence of a former slightly longer nameplate, with the vintage durene sweater possibly worn by Dave Logan the previous season.
Dark marks are present over the front band along with light staining, with each sleeve fairly clean. There is also some red paint transfer over the lower hem near the right seam, with a large stick mark on the lower right reverse. Additional paint transfer as well as a large burn and team repair are situated on the hem at the left seam, with a small hole present near the right sleeve’s number. Three included numeric images have been matched to the particularities of the embroidered team crest, with each jersey’s team crest differing regarding placement and distinctiveness.
