Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
The 1996 World Cup of Hockey patch is sewn on the right breast of Claude Lemieux’s Team Canada game-worn jersey. Obtained directly from Claude Lemieux, he wore this jersey during the inaugural edition of the elite best-on-best international hockey tournament that succeeded the Canada Cup. Bauer patch is sewn on the right breast, Pro Wear and size 56 flag tags are in the back of the neck and the Nike inventory barcode is screened inside the hem. The white scratch on the right elbow is visible on a Getty Images photo #72388502 taken during the last game of the finals against the U.S. on September 14, 1996, but the image is not high resolution enough to call it a definitive photo-match. A signed LOA from Claude Lemieux will accompany.
More game wear includes blue paint transfer on the bottom of the Canada crest on the front and just beneath it, a bit of blue paint transfer on the left 2 on the left sleeve, red paint transfer on the right 2 on the left sleeve, and board burns and marks on the back of both sleeves.
