Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Tied with the legendary Gordie Howe for most NHL seasons played all-time with 26, Chris Chelios appeared in more NHL regular season games than any defenceman in history. We have a signed stick used by the 2013 HOF inductee, with this example gifted from the superstar directly to our consignor, Ken Daniels. A sportscaster with CBC from 1985 to 1997, Daniels is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model with “Chris Chelios 7” factory graphics along with “Handcrafted exclusively for Chris Chelios” along the underside, the stick retains its original black tape over the blade and white over the knob. The NHL decal is intact, with light but definite use visible on the stick including wear and marks to the top side of the lower shaft. There are also marks and abrasions to the shaft. Chelios has signed over the front side heel in black marker, and the signature is exemplary. An LOA from Ken Daniels will accompany.
