This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Featuring many past stars of the game, we offer a large baseball postcard and exhibit card collection totaling approx 435, ranging from the 1910s to 1980s. Highlighted by 1907 Morgan Stationary "Red Belt" Cincinnati Reds HOFer Miller Huggins and 1907-09 A.C. Dietsche Detroit Tigers Charles O’Leary postcards, there is also a pair of 1948 Baseball's Great Hall of Fame Exhibits Cards (Cobb and Johnson), 27 generic 1910s/20s postcards – mostly from Quebec, including a desirable example featuring the Draper & Maynard Sporting Goods location in Sutton, Quebec, 96 misc. Exhibit cards including Mantle (first name with white outline), Musial, Berra and others (there are also later reprints), and 120 stadiums/venues postcards including Yankee Stadium, Comiskey Park, Fenway and others. Rounding out the lot, there are also 157 1973-79 TCMA All-Time Greats postcards and 31 Perez-Steele HOF postcards.
The Huggins postcard is in poor condition, with creasing and paper loss but displays much nicer, with moderate corner/surface wear to the O’Leary postcard, with writing over the reverse along with a postal stamp - with this leaving an indentation visible along the front of the card. The Mantle Exhibit card shows light wear over each corner. The majority of the remaining postcards remain in pleasing condition, with heavier wear to the earlier examples, with a number of the Exhibit cards displaying well but having lower technical grades.
