From rookie phenom to seasoned veteran, it is fair to say that after a dozen NHL seasons of the highest competitive caliber hockey, Sidney Crosby has answered all critics and achieved all claims. The superstar is the youngest player in NHL history; to be named to the First All-Star Team, to record 100 points in a season, to records 200 career points, to record consecutive 100-point seasons, to be awarded the Art Ross Trophy and Lester B. Pearson award, to lead the the NHL in playoff scoring and to captain a winning Stanley Cup squad… extremely impressive to say the least.
Hailing from his first Stanley Cup championship where he contributed 31 playoff points – second only to Evgeni Malkin - we have an extremely important and desirable Pittsburgh Penguins captain’s jersey that was worn by Sid the Kid throughout the 2009 Stanley Cup playoffs, with photo-matches for EACH ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS! Size 56 tagging sits affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring an attractive Penguins team crest with embroidered detailing, the solid black V-neck has been embellished with oversized and textured triple-twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Crosby” across the nameplate in matching material. Equipment manager Dana Heinz has signed the fight strap, with the team patch affixed directly beneath denoting this sweater as a “2008-09 Playoff Jerseys” example. An LOA from the Penguins organization will accompany.
Game-wear on the paramount jersey includes a few marks over each sleeve along with the reverse numbers, with a small faint stain centered within the team crest. There are also board burns over the shoulders, with a small resulting hole over each. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-matches, Getty Images #86202154 from April 23rd 2009 (Game Five of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals), #86858485 from May 8th 2009 (Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals) and #87122848 from May 11th 2009 (Game Six of the Eastern Conference Semifinals) have all been matched to the black slash mark on upper area of "87" on the left sleeve, and to a pair of black marks on the left sleeve.
