This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Dressing for six NHL clubs during his tenure in the world’s fastest league including Edmonton and Montreal, Scott Thornton was selected 3rd overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the London native in 1996-97, his first of four seasons with the Habs. A CCM label and size “58” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “24” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-blue tackle twill, with “Thornton” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Exhibiting scrapes and burns over each sleeve with a small resulting hole over the right elbow, there is also some pilling beneath the fight strap and within the left sleeve. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, an LOA signed by Rejean Houle will accompany.
