Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
This fantastic signed Bell race helmet was prepared for Player’s Forsythe Racing driver Patrick Carpentier but never actually used in a 2001 IndyCar race. Carpentier signed in black marker twice, once below his name on each side toward the castle painted on the back. A fighter jet is painted atop the circa 2001 helmet, which has no signs of a radio attachment and no drink tube hole is drilled. Team Players.ca logo is painted on the forehead and the Player’s logo is sprawled across the top of Carpentier’s darkly tinted visor, which has “Painted by Flying Colors” below it on each side of the front. Carpentier had five Champ Car wins from 2001-04, finishing third overall in the series twice, in 2002 and 2004.
Parts of the autographs are faint, possibly from how they were applied, but Carpentier's signature is legible in both examples.
