Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Any and all items of defunct NHL clubs from the earlier days of the league are highly sought, and we offer just that, with a pair of programs featuring the Montreal Maroons and St Louis Eagles. First, we have a 1933-34 Montreal Forum program for a Nov 11th tilt between the Maroons and Boston Bruins, won by Montreal 3-2, with this the Maroons first game of the season. Purchased for just a nickel and featuring Hall of Fame members Tiny Thompson, Marty Barry and Dit Clapper for the Bruins and just Hooley Smith for the Maroons, the program displays admirably despite heavy wear which includes wrinkles, creasing, spine wear and light discolouration to the back cover. There is also a small tear along the bottom of the spine, with the center line-up page detached at the bottom staple. Next, we have a Chicago Stadium program from 1934-35 for a match between the Black Hawks and single-season Eagles, with the hometown squad taking home the victory 5-3. Legendary HOFers are featured in the rosters including Syd Howe, Howie Morenz and Art Coulter. The 15 cent publication remains in gorgeous condition, with bright colours and just minimal handling wear.
