Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Originating from a former Montreal Expos employee, we have a collection of four game bats from the 1980s, and despite the bats exhibiting marks, we’re unable to discern definitive game use including stitch or transfer ball marks, so each is being sold as strictly a game bat. Each is a Louisville 125 “Powerized” Slugger, with examples for Gary Carter (early-1980s 35” P89 model - incorrect style of #8 handwritten on knob), Andre Dawson (early-1980s 35” R43 model - #10 handwritten in red ink on knob), Ron LeFlore (circa-1980 35” S44 model) and Willie Montanez (early-1980s 34 ¾” U1 model with flared knob, thin red transfer, with this bat possibly showing game use).
The Carter has a few scratches and marks to the barrel including wear over the top, while the Dawson also exhibits a few scrapes and light marks to the barrel. Next, the LeFlore shows a bit of light grain separation. Lastly, a few indentations, streaks and marks, and the aforementioned red paint transfer is present on the Montanez.
