Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Significant as Maurice Richard’s first full season with the Canadiens, the 1943-44 NHL campaign would witness the Habs win both the Prince of Wales Trophy as league winners and the Stanley Cup as season champions. The Rocket would also lead the team in goals, with Bill Durnan securing the Vezina Trophy. We have a framed team photo of the 1943-44 Montreal Canadiens, with this desirable specimen photographed by noteworthy lensman Laurent Marsan. At approx 7 ¼” x 17” and affixed to a grey matting, the full team is pictured along with HOFers Dick Irvin (coach) and Tommy Gorman (GM), with each player listed along the base. Framed to full dimensions of roughly 15” x 25”, there is some moderate to heavy creasing, most notably over the right side, with some additional wear to the wooden frame.
