HOF center Mats Sundin signed his familiar No. 13 in bold black marker on the back of his World All-Stars game-worn captain’s jersey from the 2002 NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles. Sundin, the highest scoring Swede in NHL history with 1,349 points, was in the midst of another great season for the Leafs, who he led in goals (41) and assists (39) while finishing fourth in league scoring with 80 points. The 2002 All-Star Game patch is sewn onto the fight strap along with the NHL inventory patch affixed to the fight strap with number AAB056, which indicates that Sundin’s jersey was one of five he wore for either the official photo shoot, pre-game warm-up or in one of the ASG’s three periods.
Size 58 tag is sewn onto the bottom of the Made in Canada flag tag in the back of the neck. A Swedish flag patch is sewn on the left shoulder, the Maple Leafs crest is sewn on the right shoulder, and the 2002 ASG patch is sewn on the right breast. Sundin’s No. 13 is sewn over the sublimated silver star on the front left tail. NHL and NHLPA logos are embroidered on the right rear tail.
