Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
An accurate miniature of the monumental sculpture adorning the façade of the southeast corner of the Hockey Hall of Fame (the intersection of Yonge and Front streets), we have a small bronze representation that was presented to legendary superstar Jean Beliveau for his "Outstanding Contribution to the Players Selection Committee". Entitled “Our Game” and executed in frieze, the bronze sculpture is 13” in length, with a height of approx 7” (at the tallest point). Featuring five enthusiastic and well depicted generic players in relief watching game action from behind the boards, the sculpted bronze component has been mounted to a rectangular 2” x 13” marble base with beveled edges, with an engraved plaque placed over the base. The particulars are listed, including “Presented to Jean Beliveau” and “September 12, 1994”, with the artist Edie Parker signing the work over the lower right. An LOA from the Beliveau family will accompany.
Exhibiting just light wear throughout, the sculpture remains in excellent condition and is ready for prominent display.
