Guy Lafleur, the most electrifying hockey superstar of the late-1970s, was on hand to accept this Victor Award back in his heyday. The sporting equivalent of the Academy Awards featured outstanding athletic achievements in sport acknowledged at lavish affairs in Las Vegas. This spectacular award originally from Lafleur’s personal collection is a figural trophy in gold plate mounted on a substantial black marble base, with the metal plaque encircling the base reading, "Twelfth Annual Victor Awards - Guy Lafleur - Ice Hockey - Voted by the National Academy of Sports Editors and Broadcasters - Presented by Sportsman's Club - City of Hope - 1978." Guy Lafleur's signed LOA and an additional LOA.
This magnificent trophy rises to just over 19" with blotches of tarnish to note. “Designed by So. Calif. Trophy Co.” sticker with L.A. address and phone number is affixed to the brown felt on the bottom of the marble base, which is 6” in diameter at its widest and stands 3 1/2" tall.
