Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

The NHL’s greatest Stanley Cup dynasty before the Montreal Canadiens secured their epic late-1950s string of victories, the Toronto Maple Leafs would win three consecutive Cups in the late-1940s, beginning in 1947, defeating the Detroit Red Wings four-straight in the finals in both 1948 and 1949. We have a pair of historic Stanley Cup finals programs from 1949, with examples for Game 1 (April 8th, 1949, won by Leafs 3-2 in OT) and Game 3 (April 13th, 1949, won 3-1 by Leafs). Each features intact line-ups, with the Game 1 Olympia Stadium program (8 ½” x 11”) exhibiting just general handling wear including along the spine, with a small half inch edge tear at the base, along with light toning to both the interior pages and covers. The Game 3 MLG program (6 ¾” X 10”) has heavier wear including along the spine, with a one inch tear along the base. There is also toning to the interior, with a few small dog-eared pages as well as a couple creases over both the front and back covers.
