Originally known as the NHL Amateur Draft until 1979, the NHL Entry Draft is the annual meeting in which each and every NHL franchise systematically selects the rights of amateur players who meet draft eligibility requirements. A number of noteworthy superstars have been selected first overall at the draft, including Guy Lafleur, Denis Potvin, Eric Lindros, Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid and others. Featuring the first year the event was televised, and held in the same historic locale as the inaugural draft in 1963, the 1984 draft featured number one selection Mario Lemieux, and we offer a rarely-seen signed draft program along with a ticket stub to the Montreal Forum event. At 8 ½” x 11” and featuring past draft selections on the cover, the program has been signed by Lemieux and a few others within the center section in black ink, with just some light wear exhibited along the program's spine. The 2” x 6 ½” Montreal Forum ticket to the event lists the June 9, 1984 date, with just light wear present.
