Yee-haw! This 1975-76 WHA Calgary Cowboys game-worn alternate captain’s jersey is attributed to forward Butch Deadmarsh, who had career highs with 79 games, 26 goals, 28 assists, 54 points and 196 penalty minutes. The Maska and laundry instruction “Men XL 48” tagging remain in the collar of this one-year style jersey worn by the Cowboys. The small elasticized fight strap loop remains inside the back and there is a vintage nameplate restoration/change with puckering on the tackle twill of the nameplate. Deadmarsh wore No. 15 for the Cowboys in 1975-76 and wore the “A” for part of the season. Lots of game wear with nine team repairs, including a long one that touches the crest on the left front.
The 7”-long repair on the front has a fabric patch inside the jersey. There is another sewing fix on the left breast, three on the lower left sleeve, including two with patches, two repairs on the back, and three on the right sleeve, including one with an inner fabric patch that fills a small hole.
There are unrepaired holes on the well-worn cuffs, with green and red paint transfer on the right cuff, and red paint transfer on the left cuff. Various marks include diagonal black slashing marks on the left front tail, and black marks high on the back of the left sleeve.
The puckered red-and-white double twill Cowboys crest sewn on the front has a black slash mark through the left side.
The white twill nameplate with cable stitching is slightly shorter than the removed nameplate, which is evidenced by unrepaired holes on each end.
