Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
894 career goals…. a milestone that most likely will never be breached, Wayne Gretzky first became goal king when surpassing his idol Gordie Howe on March 23, 1994. We have a limited-edition print on canvas of the historic moment with Wayne slipping the puck past Canucks goalie Kirk McLean, signed by the iconic legend in blue marker near his image, adding the important “802”, with the canvas framed (no glass) to full dimensions of 25” x 39 ½”. A hologtram also appears from WGA along the bottom right with “99/199” handwritten, as this display was purchased directly from WGA having remained in their offices since the original production. All of the offered pieces from this collection feature low or desirable limited-edition numbers.
With just some light wear to the frame itself, the display remains in wonderful condition.
