Wayne Gretzky came up big in the first game of the 1983 Stanley Cup playoffs, as he scored an impressive four goals in a decisive 6-3 win over Winnipeg. This particular puck completed his hat trick – after being assisted by Jari Kurri - when it found the back of the Jets’ net for his third goal during that April 6th, 1983 contest. The official Edmonton Oilers game puck has been wrapped with a strip of aged cloth tape and marked "3rd, Gretzky, Ed 5, Wpg 1" in ballpoint. It is also interesting to note that two of the four goals by Wayne that spring evening were scored shorthanded. A letter of provenance signed by former Oilers’ General Manager Kevin Lowe will accompany this museum-worthy rubber.
