Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Breaking their previous record for most goals scored by an NHL team in a single season, the Edmonton Oilers would top the Smythe Division and conclude the 1982-83 season in second place overall. The Great One would take home the Hart, Art Ross and Lester B. Pearson awards, with the season also noteworthy for player milestones, with Mark Messier, Juri Kurri and Glenn Anderson all registering their 100th career assist in 1982-83. This significant puck registers as a historic keepsake for three reasons. Not only was it used by the greatest all-time to score one of his unmatched 894 career goals, the puck serves as the milestone 100th career assists for both Kurri and Anderson! Wrapped in now-yellowed stick tape with both logos covered, “100 pt Anderson ED 7-4” and “4” are handwritten. Accompanied by the original signed Oilers LOA stating that it is Glenn Anderson's 100th point milestone goal puck assisted by Gretzky, a second LOA from Classic Auctions with revised description will also be included.
Hailing from the March 29, 1983 contest vs Vancouver won by Edmonton 7-4 and serving as Wayne’s 69th goal of the season and 267th of his career, the official Canucks puck shows light wear with no obtrusive chips or damage, with the added white stick tape now yellowed as mentioned, with some minor bleeding to the handwritten notations.
