Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015

Wayne Gretzky’s photo-matched 1982-83 Edmonton Oilers Daoust game-used skate dates from an era when No. 99 was ripping up the NHL record book seemingly with each passing game. The distinctive pattern of the tar applied to the outside edge of the front of the right boot, from the toe through the beginning of the white “99” below the lace holes, offers the photo match to a shot of the Great One from the 1983 NHL All-Star Game, when he scored four goals and established a number of ASG records. The outsole of the skate was changed at some point so Wayne most likely used this skate with his classic Perfecta blue blade support for an extended period of time. Lots of wear to the brown leather, which exhibits scuffs. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
