It’s hard to wrap your head around Wayne Gretkzy’s NHL single-season goal record: 92 goals in 80 games. The Great One was 22 when he obliterated Phil Esposito’s record of 76, which no one even approached prior to that. Wayne’s original tape jobs remain on the knob and the blade of his signed 1981-82 Oilers Titan TPM game-used stick. "99" is handwritten in black marker high and low on the shaft, which has a "W. Gretzky" stamp. "WG" is handwritten in pencil on the heel of blade, and a "Dec. 7 1981" date stamp sits low the back of the shaft. Gretz signed, "To Mr. Miller, in friendship, Wayne Gretzky 99" in blue marker low on the front of the shaft. Comes with Shawn Chaulk’s signed LOA.
The bottom edge of the tape job is worn through from the middle of the blade out to the toe. More game use shows in blue and red paint transfer and black marks on the shaft. The middle portion of the shaft on one side has the first layer of wood separated/delaminated but it does not diminish the display of this awesome stick.
