This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Always on the want list of collectors, we have an autograph and memorabilia collection totaling six featuring the game’s all-time greatest, Wayne Gretzky. Included are three framed and signed displays, a pair of cereal boxes with Gretzky covers from 1999 and a woodcut display. The first display is a signed 8” x 10” Kings photo numbered “610/1851” with inserted name plaque and pins, framed to 16” x 16”. The second display feature’s an 11” x 14” photo of Wayne with Gordie Howe, taken after The Great One surpassed Mr. Hockey’s 1850 points. Both have signed, with a plaque listing the particulars including “494 of 500”, framed to full dimensions of 16” x 20”. The final display is a signed dust jacket of J. Taylor’s “Wayne Gretzky” book, framed to approx. 18” x 34 ½”. An LOA will accompany for the Gretzky/Howe photo.
The Gretzky/Howe photo has some minor warping visible, with some very tiny smudges over the Gretzky signature, with both autographs executed in blue sharpie. There is also some staining to the matte and light wear to the frame. The “1851” numbered-photo feature’s a black marker signature, with the inserted plaque listing a limited-edition number of “610 of 1,851”. The dust jacket frame includes “Best wishes your friend” along with the black marker signature, with the plaque mentioning “Signed Ottawa 1995”. There is some heavy water staining, along with wear to the glass and frame. The woodcut is by Kim Murray at approx. 16” x 20”, with career stats listed on the affixed cardboard over the reverse. Lastly, the cereal boxes include examples from Sugar Crisp and Shreddies, with each featuring Wayne’s image, with each folded flat with just minimal wear.
