Winning a combined nine Stanley Cup championships in a period of just thirteen seasons, the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers are two of the most successful franchises in NHL history. Meeting at the 2003 Heritage Classic, in Edmonton, on November 22, the Oilers were led by iconic superstar Wayne Gretzky, the Habs’ by legendary Canadien Guy Lafleur, with Montreal Defeating Edmonton, 4-3. Originally presented to Bob Gainey and hailing from his personal collection, this 2003 Heritage Classic framed display has been signed by both The Great One and The Flower. At approx 13” x 20”, the glossy print pictures the duo during the ceremonial face-off, with each signing beneath their respective image in matching blue marker, with Wayne adding a lengthy personalization. Triple-matted and framed to approx 27” x 31 ½” with a plaque added over the base, a signed LOA from Bob Gainey will accompany.
The signatures present well with no issues, with just light wear to the frame and glass.
