Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Utilized before the emergence of modern composite materials including appliqued tackle twill, felt served as the chief identifier on early sporting uniforms, primarily as the team crest and numbers. Celebrating the use of the strong but delicate material, we have a great collection of vintage mini team crests and pennants. Highlighted by a complete set of Original Six felt crests for the Rangers, Bruins, Leafs, Black Hawks, Red Wings and Canadiens, we also have Quaker Oats Montreal Canadiens crests from 1938-39 (white with red lettering) and 1946-50 (red with white lettering), a 1957-58 Star Weekly NHL teams crest (8”) and mini-pennants from the 1960s for Chicago, Detroit and Toronto (11” with tassels). The majority of the items show light wear, with rough edges to the 1946-50 Habs crest and dark spotting to the reverse of the Star Weekly crest.
