Representing a wonderful timeline within our beloved sport, we have an especially noteworthy gathering of vintage equipment, put together by a dedicated and patient collector. Totaling 28 and dominated by gloves, this exceptional collection includes 14 pairs of vintage gloves spanning from the 1920s to 1970s, along with four pairs of vintage skates highlighted by a desirable pair of Spalding Blue Streak models with gorgeous deckles along with the original box. We also have two pairs of pants, with a rarely seen Spalding pair from the 1920s with a beautifully intact label, two sets of shinguards, two sets of shoulder pads including a pair from desirable maker Holdens of Ottawa, two pairs of elbow pads and one set of ankle supports. We also have a 1930s one piece Harry Kennedy stick rounding out this exceptional ensemble.
The Spalding Blue Streak skates are as close to NOS as one could hope for, with gorgeous deckles along with the original box with a wonderful large and displayable label. The gloves are highlighted by a desirable set of CCM short-cuff long-finger examples from the 1920s with a gorgeous cloth label, along with an additional five pairs from the 1930s, with the remaining pairs hailing from roughly the 1940s to 1970s. CCM, Reach, D&R, Cooper and Winn-Well are all represented. The 1920s CCM gloves exhibit wear with rubbing to the leather and remain in beautiful displayable condition, along with the majority of the other gloves, with some exhibiting expected wear from long periods of use. Both sets of pants are well worn and used with heavier wear to the Spalding examples, with one set of shinguards from Sears featuring endorsement from Syl Apps. The Harry Kennedy one-piece stick remains in very good condition, solid and uncracked but exhibiting wear, with the remainder of equipment in expected used condition.
